White Collar wasn't planning on having a season finale tonight,
but it just happened upon a finale that was just sitting on the bench not doing anything.
News
Fox gave early renewals to four shows yesterday: The Following, New Girl, The Mindy Project and Raising Hope. The one surprise on that list is The Mindy Project, which has been on the bubble all year. However, Deadline reports that Raising Hope will have to go without series creator Greg Garcia who is expected to supervise one of the two comedy pilots he's developing for CBS.
Meanwhile, The Mindy Project is also getting a visit from Chloe Sevigny, who has been working hard to make up for the awfulness of her Big Love character.
In response to Will Oliver's Change.org petition, the National Geographic Channel published a blog post from Oliver, titled "A #ToughScout is Brave Enough to Support Gay Youth". It's a powerful piece on Oliver's part, but strikes me as a rather minimal redress by NatGeo for promoting a discriminatory group like the Boy Scouts.
Chuck's former Captain Awesome, Ryan McPartlin, has joined the TBS comedy pilot, Do It Yourself, a workplace comedy set in a home improvement store where McPartlin will play an enthusiastic paint department employee.
The producers of Once Upon a Timetold E! that the rumored spin-off series would not focus on the Mad Hatter and would not involve attempting to find an acceptable Sebastian Stan replacement. The show they are working out still sounds like it's in the early stages since it "may or may not take place in Wonderland."
Piers Morganmoderated the PaleyFest panel for Newsroom and things got a little bit uncomfortable when Olivia Munn commented on CNN personalities making themselves a part of the news. Munn named Don Lemon's argument with Jonah Hill over Twitter as an example, voicing frustration that the "feud" was covered on CNN.
Being Human alum (the original Being Human) Lenora Crichlow has signed up for an ABC pilot. She's joined a comedy about a woman (Maggie Lawson) who moves in with her father (James Caan) after her divorce. Crichlow will play a "fashionably fabulous beauty" who befriends the divorcee.
The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman is working on a show about a man who needed an exorcism as a child and is now learning things that could mean the end of life on earth.
That J.J. Abrams-produced drama about a future where LAPD officers are partnered with androids has added Lili Taylor, as reported by Deadline. The Six Feet Under alum will play a police captain.
The History Channel has another scripted hit on its hands thanks to the huge audience who tuned in for the mini-series The Bible and the debut of Vikings.

Anderson Live (syndicated) Check local listings
Marlee Matlin chats with Anderson today. For some reason, the Dancing with the Stars and The Apprentice are mentioned as topics in the show description, but not last night's ground-breaking Switched at Birth.
The Wendy Williams Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Wendy's chatting with Clive Davis about his memoir The Soundtrack of My Life today. You know Wendy's already got all the juicy parts dog-eared to ask questions. Or, at least, she's had a staffer find all the juicy parts.
The New Ricki Lake Show (syndicated) Check local listings
While I'm not sure how I feel about the phrase "alternative lifestyle" being used here, Ricki is looking at atypical relationships like swingers and polyamory. It leads to a panel of sexual experts that includes Dan Savage.
Days of Our Lives (NBC) Check local listings
Kate wonders why Will seems so upset and... well, if Days isn't setting up some kind of crime perpetrated against Nick they're wasting the effort of setting up suspects with motives. We're going to be following this one with a liveblog, so be sure to join us starting at 1PM Eastern!
Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family) 8:00 PM ET
Spencer has been slowly falling apart and now she's nowhere to be found. The rest of the Liars debate if Spencer's just in a bad mood or if "A" done something nefarious (hint: guessing that "A" did something terrible is usually a safe bet).
Go On (NBC) 9:00 PM ET
Ryan starts to fall apart and descend back into his gambling habit — and to help make the fall even worse, the relapse happens right as his wife's life insurance policy pays out. Meanwhile, Anne experiences the tragedy of dating someone ridiculously good looking... but not very smart.
Face Off (Syfy) 9:00 PM ET
The remaining artists have to show what they can do with luminescence in a challenge that will end in a double-elimination. Usually I hate double elimination episodes. I end up bracing myself for bad luck to drag down someone who doesn't deserve to go. However, this season's cast has underwhelmed me to the point where I'm probably not going to be unhappy about the results.
The Lying Game (ABC Family) 9:00 PM ET
With the mid-season (I hope) finale coming up, it's time for one more person to discover that there's more than one dark-haired Mercer daughter out there — just as Dan is questioning Ethan's loyalty and looking for answers to his fiancee's disappearance.
The New Normal (NBC) 9:30 PM ET
Were you asking for that lost Halloween episode? Here it is, with Bryan trying to convince everyone to follow his Here Comes Honey Boo Boo theme, though David would prefer something a little less campy.
Chopped (Food Network) 10:00 PM ET
Tonight's competition involves Mexican ingredients including pigs feet and tres leches cake for the appetizer. That has got to result in some interesting appetizers.
Justified (FX) 10:00 PM ET
Boyd finally realizes that Colt hasn't exactly been truthful about how things went with that "take care of Ellen-May" task. I'm hoping this isn't where poor, dumb Ellen-May doesn't end up pulling an Adriana in the woods.
The Joe Schmo Show (Spike) 10:00 PM ET
After an impressive return, it's time to let Chase know it was all a prank. Considering the way this season has gone, I hope the reveal comes early so they can tell Chance about all the times they thought he figured them out.
Golden Boy (CBS) 10:00 PM ET
Clark's next case involves the murder of a young addict with a lost daughter. I'm trying to guess what ridiculous way Arroyo will try to undermine the investigation.
Smash (NBC) 10:00 PM ET
Just as Ivy isn't so sure about her place on "Bombshell," her new co-star (Sean Hayes) helps her start to regain her confidence. So... Hayes' character will be nothing like that confidence-eater Jack.
White Collar (USA) 10:00 PM ET
For the fourth season finale, Neal is close to finding the music evidence box. (Perhaps the next time Neal's looking for something it can be kept in a poster tube?) He mus evade FBI agents sent by Senator Pratt to get it.
The Colbert Reprt (Comedy Central) 11:30 PM ET
James Franco's scheduled to talk up his Oz movie tonight, but do you think Stephen will be able to resist bringing up James' interest in gay culture?
What will you be watching tonight? Please share in the comments!
