"Call Me Maybe" singer Carly Rae Jepsen has followed Train in exiting this year’s Boy Scouts National Jamboree. Here's her statement today via a series of tweets @carlyraejepsen:
“As an artist who believes in equality for all people, I will not be participating in the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree this summer, I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level ... and stay informed on the ever changing landscape in the ongoing battle for gay rights in this country and across the globe."
Along with Train, Jepsen had been the focus of an online change.org petition created by gay Eagle Scout Derek Nance.
Kudos to Carly Rae Jepsen. We think this calls for yet an umpteenth viewing/hearing of "Call Me Maybe"!
