- Continuing the Top 50 Movie Songs Of The 80's! At #30 is ... "We Don't Need Another Hero" by Tina Turner, from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.
- Tina's other song from Mad Max, "One Of The Living," is frankly a better song, but I already used that on The 100 Greatest Lost Hits of the 80's Countdown (it came in #13), but this was still one of Tina's biggest solo hits, and deserves recognition. It debuted on July 6th, 1985, and peaked at #2 on September 14th. YOU CAN SEE THE VIDEO HERE. Tomorrow's clue - "I'm Ready To Sail Any Ocean."
- The 100 Greatest Lost Hits Of The 80's countdown may be over, but every Thursday we're going to travel back again and pay tribute to an 80's tune that should have been a bigger hit. This week, it's "I Need A Man" by Eurythmics. The concept album Savage was one of the worst-selling albums of the 80's for Annie and Dave, and garnered well, savage reviews. I think it's their masterpiece, and Annie's "Diary Of A Mad Housewife" character was used in all of the album's videos. "You Have Placed A Chill In My Heart" and "Beethoven (I Love To Listen to)" are both brilliant, and "I Need A man" is the album's ferocious centerpiece. Sadly, it flopped on the chart, peaking at #46 in January 1988.
