While the BBC hasn't announced a fourth season yet, Benedict Cumberbatchrevealed that he's committed to appear in another season of Sherlock, along with Martin Freeman. Go ahead and do your happy dance, I've got an excuse to post a Sherlock pic. (UPDATE: The fourth season is official.)
Deadline reports that sometimes Daily Show correspondent Kristen Schaal has joined ABC's adaptation of the Britcom Pulling, about three dysfunctional women in their 30s. Schaal takes over for Mandy Moore who recently quit the pilot.
HBO is adapting the graphic novel Cancer Vixen: A True Story as a movie with Cate Blanchett producing. The graphic novel follows a cartoonist's account of her eleven month battle with breast cancer.
Keegan Michael Key has joined the comedy USA is developing about two female friends who raise a baby together, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It's not clear what this casting means for Key and Peele.

Idina Menzel is making a return appearance on Glee. Perhaps this time Quinn can act like a decent human being around her?
New Girl is planning a flashback episode that looks at how the roommates lost their virginity, and they've just booked Dylan O'Brien to play Jess' prom date, TV Guide reports. The episode is set to air in April, which is crazy because a New Girl episode with Dylan O'Brien should air during May sweeps.
To go with its home makeover competition, NBC has ordered a cooking contest reality show. Food Fighters has a promising concept, as home cooks will face experienced chefs in a series of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?-style rounds. Maybe this will even be NBC's first watchable culinary reality show?

Marion Ross will appear in the season finale of The Middle, according to TVLine. She'll play the vice-principal at Brick's school.
As part of the media campaign to ignore Justified, Salon's Willa Paskin wonders if this season has become too flippant about its use of violence. As much as I love Justified I've been thinking something similar. I loved how the first season went from depicting Raylan as a badass, maverick and slowly peeled back the layers until we saw just how broken he is. The last few seasons kept that up, but that's been missing this season. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there's a bigger plan at work, but in the meantime I'm just happy there's more of Tim.
James Spader has joined the NBC drama pilotThe Backlist, about a most wanted criminal (Spader) who suddenly turns himself in, offering to share information about his past accomplices. So, if you were worried about TV giving up on dramas about charismatic criminals, you can rest easy.
As a nerd who loves nerds, I enjoyed Vuture's evolution of the TV nerd, but it could be a lot longer. Shouldn't Willow Rosenberg count as a nerd?
Judging on her two appearances so far, I presume it's good news for Doctor Who fans that Jenna-Louie Coleman has already signed up for Doctor Who's eight season.
