The curtain is about to fall on Shameless — the original version. Creator Paul Abbott announced that the series' eleventh season will lead to the series' end. In the meantime, I'll keep hoping someone finally decides to air the later seasons stateside.
Critically acclaimed comedy Louie will take an extended hiatus. The fourth season isn't expected until Spring 2014. Louie CK, who performs many jobs on the series, says he needs extra time to maintain the series' quality.
Fox has ordered a pilot starring Rachael Harris and The Office's Angela Kinsey. The show would have the two play women who have been best friends for 16 years and end up going through a divorce at about the same time.
At long last, the end is near for The Secret Life of Actors Who Aren't Given Time to Rehearse the American Teenager. The series will end with the fifth season, which will begin filming soon.
Sigh. Now Kris Jenner wants a talk show. Please let this be where the country's interest in the Kardashians finally hits its limit.
Megan Mullally will be reprising her role as Tammy 2 on Parks & Recreation. I'm still hoping for the news that Bruce McCullough will get cast to play Tammy 4.
Lifetime's drama pilot The Witches of East End has added Madchen Amick to the cast. That certainly grabs my attention.

When did Great Expectations get so hot? Now ABC is developing a soap based on the Charles Dickens novel. Is this Gillian Anderson's fault?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is occasionally uncomfortable by the way Raising Hopes mines Maw Maw's dementia for humor. I love the show (when awful celebrities aren't appearing) but every so often the joke goes a little too far.

The CW is attempting its next superhero drama, this time putting Oliver Queen (and Stephen Amell's amazing abs) into the spotlight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed about this one since I've enjoyed Green Arrow comics in the past. While he's far from my favorite DC comics character, I like the non-superpowered corner of the DC Universe where Arrow intends to play. Besides, I'll be eagerly anticipating John Barrowman's debut in that still-unrevealed role.
Modern Family (ABC) 8:00 PM ET
Tonight brings a double-feature of Modern Family that's focused on changes. Lily starts her first day of kindergarten and Haley goes to college. Then Phil has a vasectomy to make sure there are no surprises to get in the way of his and Claire's dreams of an empty nest.
Supernatural (CW) 9:00 PM ET
Crowley continues to attack Kevin through his loved ones (as he is wont to do, he's Crowley), this time going after Kevin's mother. However, since Kevin's mom is played by Lauren Tom, I'm sure you won't be surprised to learn that she's a little tougher than Crowley's average target.
Nashville (ABC) 10:00 PM ET
ABC is replacing Revenge with this soap set in the country music industry that has Connie Britton as a woman at the top of the industry and Hayden Panettiere as a budding diva aiming to dethrone her. Can a show about music divas battling for dominance match the campy thrill that Emily Thorne delivered in this time slot last year?
Chicago Fire (NBC) 10:00 PM ET
Okay, so Chicago Fire doesn't have a splashy concept but it has a very hunky cast (including Taylor Kinney, Jesse Spencer, Eamonn Walker and Sex and the City alum David Eigenberg) as Chicago firefighters. Sometimes you don't need a lot more than hot guys and action scenes.
South Park (Comedy Central) 10:00 PM ET
Once Kyle starts to suspect his mom is having an affair with the UPS man, it doesn't inspire jokes about what else "Brown can do for you" but paranoia about the amount of access people give to the delivery man.
