There is no God
It's that time again. The penultimate episode of Project Runway, aka "Finale, Part One," aka the show where nothing happens, but Tim Gunn visits towns he would never otherwise step foot in.
The Part One of the finale always seems like a waste to me, but it does give us a chance to see the designers in their natural habitats ... or expensive borrowed lofts.
First up, Tim visits Christopher, who tries to explain his "x-ray" designs.
Next up, Tim asks Dmitry about boning.
Oh, yeah, here's Melissa.
Finally, Fabio, who Tim is concerned about.
All of the designers have to show three pieces to represent their collections. And that's when the trouble starts. The judges are, well, underwhelmed by most of what is shown, and the way it is shown. Let's take a look at this week's stultifying display.
Christopher's collection was the most disappointing. Using his mother's x-rays was an intriguing idea, but is she really going to want to be reminded of being in a horrible accident?
The judges called Dmitry's collection "old and dowdy," but they left out "tacky."
Oh yeah, here's Melissa. They auf'd Sonjia for this?
My immediate reaction when I saw Fabio's Mentos collection:
The judges deliberate, and decide that all of designers suck so much this time, they all deserve to go to Fashion Week. Seriously, that's basically what happened.
So next week is the finale finale, and hopefully the designers can wow us, because they didn't do it this time. Do you think someone should have been sent home this week, or was it all just too lackluster to make a choice?
