Patti Smith is busy turning her life with Robert Mapplethorpe into a movie. But who could play such iconic cultural figures? Kristen Stewart and Robert PattinsonPatti says that one idea she had was Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. I'll just let that sink in for a minute.

ESPN anonymously surveyed athletes in the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MBL for their attitudes on a variety of subjects, including same-sex marriage. Overall, the results were positive, except in the NBA and MLB, who oppose it by a slim margin. The NHL, home of the You Can Play Project, was 92.3% in favor.

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg donated $250,000 to the Maryland campaign to preserve marriage equality. Bloomberg has a lot of faults, but he's been remarkable on marriage.

Peter Berg, the creator of Friday Night Lights, is not happy that Mitt Romney is using "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose" from his show in the campaign. "Mitt, we all wish you and your family all the best.  We are grateful for your support of our beloved show, but we are not in any way affiliated with you or your campaign. Please come up with your own campaign slogan."

Prince GumballNeil Patrick Harris is returning to Cartoon Network's Adventure Time as Prince Gumball for another gender-switched episode, and this time he's bringing along Donald Glover to play Marshall Lee, the switched counterpart to Marceline the Vampire Queen.

Brian May says that the biopic on Freddie Mercury should be set for release in 2014. Mercury will be played by Sacha Baron Cohen.

James Sutton should be back on Hollyoaks in time for Christmas. He left the long running British soap in 2008.

Margaret Cho sits in on Buzzfeed's advice column this week, and advises a recent college grad on how to handle his hometown friends meeting his boyfriend when they both move back to town for jobs, not knowing that he's gay. Miss Cho says to treat it as a nonissue, and it won't be an issue.

The Census Bureau is soliciting input on how to properly account for same sex populations in their next sampling of the country.Ben Baur It would be the first time they made a direct attempt to count the GLBT population.

Hunting Season cutie Ben Baur writes in the Huffington Post about his decision to be an out gay actor, which really sounds like less of a decision than just a swelling of pride during the interview that he was good, the work was good, and damn it, he deserved to be honest with the world. And for that, I salute him. He certainly impressed writer/producer/director Jon Marcus.

It appears the rumors of a cease fire between Sir Elton, David Furnish and Madonna are true. Furnish tells TMZ "I think she's a great artist ... she's an inspiration to all of us. Seriously, I love her."

Chris KluweAccording to SeekingArrangement.com, the top city for a gay sugar baby to find a sugar daddy is New York City. On average, their gay Sugar Daddy clients are 39 years old, make an average of $215,000 and have a net worth of $6 million.

In a fundraising email for Minnesota equality, Chris Kluwe says "We can all agree that marriage is a powerful and important idea in many people's lives: not only does it allow us to love each other, it also provides a safe and stable environment to raise our children. The thought of someone trying to take that away is enough to make me scream at random farm animals, before jumping into a pond to cool off." And that upsets the farm animals, leading to poor nutrition for us all.

Gary Collins, ubiquitous 1980s television presence and Miss America host, has passed away in Biloxi, MS at the age of 74.

Bill Maher goes off on an epic rant about Focus On the Family and how they're always wrong, and basically just seem to exist to take donations. Agent CoulsonHe calls them “an anti-gay lobbying group described as a church … basically, the God Hates Fags guys crossed with Bain Capital.”

But because the universe is a fair and just place, Marvel has announced that Joss Whedon's new S.H.I.E.L.D pilot will indeed feature Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, putting it into a slightly parallel universe to The Avengers, which I finally sat through this weekend.

Ali Adler with Andrew Rannells in a "historic moment" on the set of The New Normal, but they seem to be talking about the set that they're on, which I don't recognize, which will probably result in my gay card being revoked. Again. Help a homo out?

It reminds me of the Glee set for that big number Kurt did, but I'm not sure

The Hollywood Reporter has the first image of John Barrowman in Arrow, still only referred to as "well dressed man"

What is it with Glee and the super hero costumes this season?

The old crew together at Breadsticks again. Hopefully no one gets food poisoning

Awkward cutie Brett Davern on the set of Born To Race

Via Towleroad, the charming offer from a Chick-Fil-A in Atlanta

The first photo from Starz' Da Vinci's Demons, about a young Leonardo. Deadline labeled this as Tom Hardy, but it looks like Tom Riley to me, who is also who IMDb lists as the lead. There's no word yet on if the series will deal with Da Vinci's same sex proclivities.

Was one of Leonardo's inventions an early beard trimmer?

This faceoff certainly looks familiar

My dear friend and longtime activist David Mixner presented Judith Light with an award from the Empire State Pride Agenda

Misha Collins promised to post a picture of him naked on a horse, and he delivered

NBC has released the first look at Mockingbird Lane, which they intend to air as a Halloween special on October 26. It looks, well, very Bryan Fuller, visually, which is what we've come to expect. I love the dragon, and we get a sneak peek at Cheyenne Jackson, which is always a plus. As for the show, Fuller says to not count the show out, because if it gets good numbers, it could still go to series, with him switching over to Mockingbird Lane once he wraps the first season of Hannibal.

We had a cute picture of Awkward's Brett Davern on the last page, and now we have him in Funny Or Die's The Uninvited: A Red River Rivalry Nightmare, which is a football event that took place this weekend, but it wasn't much of a rivalry from what I saw on television. It's a fine line between lust and hate. And I really do think they shouldn't keep the jersey on.

The Barefoot Running Club isn't particularly funny, and it's certainly NSFW for language, but I have a soft spot for anything with Enver Gjokaj, and he is wearing spandex in this, so that's extra points.

Jimmy Fallon did a skit about President Obama and Mitt Romney watching the vice presidential debates together via phone, and the bit was obviously sponsored by Bugles. There are some fun moments in this, and one has to figure that regardless of the rivalry between the two men, they probably do have a decent rapport.

Just when you thought Miley Cyrus was taking a more mature turn in her career we get the trailer for So Undercover, in which she plays a private investigator recruited by the FBI to investigate something on a rich college campus. This has potential to be Showgirls bad/good.

We all have some fond memories of the Coca-Cola Polar Bears, who have become iconic figures in the advertising for the brand. But we also have to admit that soda has some pretty bad health effects. This animated short highlights some of them to graphic effect, with a custom song from Jason Mraz.

I have to admit, I think Jimmy Kimmel's This Week In Unnecessary Censorship was funny at first, but it's starting to get a little stale. It could just be the heavy political focus this week, but I'm rapidly losing interest in the bit.

This short, which is NSFW, is in support of the Washington equality vote. It's a cute guy dancing around with a yard sign, likely naked (Seattle has a long history of public nudity), and has a seriously cute moment at the end.
