The CW's compelling espionage drama returns tonight and things are basically upside-down now that Nikita has taken control of The Division, Percy's dead and Amanda's on the run. Nikita hasn't been afraid of walking away from the status quo (actually, the status quo is usually material for firewood on this show) so it should be fun to see where they go from this starting point.

This week's hidden camera segments include a parent shopping for a Halloween costume, whose child wants to wear a costume meant for the opposite gender. I'm guessing this is inspired by the boy who wore a Daphne costume, which is pretty great inspiration to turn to.
Haven (Syfy) 10:00 PM ET
As if there weren't enough people in Haven implementing their own dangerous solutions to the town's criminals and the troubled, there's a new vigilante making her mark on the town.
Usually its The Birds that gets people yelling, "Run, Tippi, run!"
but HBO's The Girl looks like it captures a similar feeling.

Once at a [extremely nerdy college activity redacted], I saw a guy walking with a pet skunk on a leash. It was adorable, but I was afraid to get too close and risk needing a tomato soup bath. This week, Too Cute! takes a look at baby skunks, which means I can get that close look I was afraid to take.
The Girl (HBO) 9:00 PM ET
HBO's latest movie takes a look at the relationship between The Birds star Tippi Hedren and Alfred Hitchcock and how it went sour once Hitchcock started to become obsessed with Hedren. My partner's a fan of The Birds, so I'm debating if this movie will enhance his appreciation of the movie or just ruin his enjoyment.
Saturday Night Live (NBC) 11:30 PM ET
The last few weeks haven't been kind to SNL. Daniel Craig was certainly game, but the only character that worked well for him was the one he plays in movies. Christina Applegate did well with the material she was given, but she was treated more like a member of the cast and not the host. This week's host and musical guest is Bruno Mars, which doesn't leave me expecting SNL streak of underwhelming to end. I am looking forward to seeing what they do with those binders full of women, tho.

In response to all those women's Halloween costumes that take things that don't need to be "sexy", and try to make them sexy, Once Upon a Time is unveiling its "Sexy Captain Hook" costume. It'll go nicely with the "Sexy Pinochio" and "Sexy Mad Hatter" designs.

With Marge thinking about the size of her family (after all, if she has to buy a new car, maybe she should ask herself if she should have room for one more child?) I'm starting to wonder if this is setting things up for The Simpsons' eventual adieu — wouldn't pregnancy be an interesting arc for the final season of a show where the characters never aged?
The Amazing Race (CBS) 8:30 PM ET
(Programming note: CBS' programming is airing a half-hour late this Sunday, so make sure you've got your DVRs and calendars set properly.) There's two things a racer can do to get on my hate list — complain about how no one is speaking English, and yell at strangers about how they cost you a million dollars. Last week, we got rid of one team campaigning for my disgust. This week, it looks like Team Monster trucker wants to take their place. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they're gone soon, too.

Lately, ABC's been pretty coy in what they release about upcoming episodes, but the previews do have Victoria telling Emily about mama Clarke before the two of them end up leaning over a body together. Whoever it is, I hope Emily remembers that these Hamptons people are durable. One day they're falling from balconies, the next they're guilt tripping you into letting them "recover" on one of your dozen extra beds.

Steve's latest adventure sees him recruited into a boy band. Do the American Dad writers get enough lead time to make Larry Stylinson jokes? I'd love to hear the show's take on that.

Alicia faces the press in an attempt to kill the rumors that Peter had an affair. I'm going to see if switching between my recordings of Once Upon a Time and The Good Wife, I can create some Swingtown fanfic, where Janet becomes a journalist looking to ruin Trina's new career as a small town mayor.

The Week Ahead
Monday's the day TV gets quiet for the final Presidential debate, but there's still the Switched at Birth finale and the debut of RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race. However, Tuesday starts getting busy thanks to the return of Happy Endings and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 and the latest Pretty Little Liars special. One of my favorite nonfiction series, PBS' Secrets of the Dead kicks off a new season that night.
There's already plenty of Wednesday night TV, but this week Logo adds the debut of DTLA to your TV schedule (yay for original scripted programming!) while Lifetime gives Whitney Houston's family a reality show with The Houstons: On Our Own. Finally on Thursday brace yourself for the return of Wendy Pepper (sigh, it's never Diana Eng, the designer I want to see return) on Project Runway All Stars's second season.
