Aw, I still want to see Kermit sitting on one of The Voice's swivel chairs.
News
First, Merlin is cancelled, now EW reports that the third season of Sherlock will be delayed. New episodes aren't expected to air until late 2013 in the U.K. and 2014 on PBS. This isn't a good week for slashwink fans.
The internet has been abuzz about a vlog featuring Two and a Half Men's Angus T. Jonescalling his TV series "filth" and asking viewers to stop watching it. When I first saw the headlines, I was ready to cheer Jones, but it turns out he's offended by the show from a religious conservative perspective (he seems to be one of those people who thinks any entertainment that offends them comes directly from Hell's Ministry of Propaganda), and he made his plea on a vlog with a homophobic past.
Southfork Ranch will open its doors to mourning fans of Larry Hagman on Sunday aftenoon.
EW has the scoop on the big list guest-stars for the third season of Portlandia, which will include Roseanne Barr, Martina Navratilova and Matt Lucas. I'm still hoping for more appearances by Mayor Sam Adams (even if he's not sticking around for much longer).
It's finally official, TVLine breaks the news that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have signed up for the Boy Meets World sequel, Girl Meets World. Meanwhile, Fishel posted to her Tumblr page to thank fans for their support and comment that it's still undecided if any of Boy Meets World's other stars will appear on the sequel.
Cee Lo Green will play himself in an episode of Anger Management. At the very least I hope they rent a pet for Green to carry. It's bound to be more amusing than the script for the episode.
Tyra Banks just announced what she's getting the world for Christmas, a sequel to her made-for-TV-movie, Life Size (oh, if only the movie's marketers could have looked into the future they would have realized it should be called "Life-Size Smize"). The original followed a girl (Lindsey Lohan) who botches her first dabbling in necromancy and accidentally brings her doll (Banks) to life, instead of bringing her mom back from the dead. It still occasionally airs on The Disney Channel and still does well enough to warrant a sequel 12 years later.
For all of the press it got, Liz & Dick drew 3.5 million viewers, a respectable number but not one that lives up to expectations.
In worrisome ratings newsRevenge hit a season low on Sunday.
Listings
The Ricki Lake Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Ricki gets to relive the glory days of the original Ricki Lake Show and how Fred Phelps was the only guest Ricki kicked off her show by talking with Fred's estranged son Nate as part of a show about people who've taken a stand against their awful families. I bet Ricki's too classy to say, "And who did you kick off your show, Anderson Cooper?"
The Wendy Williams Show (syndicated) Check local listings
With new episodes making their debut tomorrow, Wendy's talking with Happily Divorced's Tichina Arnold (I hope these promotional appearances means Arnold's getting more screen time this season) and Hot in Cleveland's Wendy Malick .
The View (ABC) Check local listings
It sounds like we've got a pretty faboo combination with Joan Collins, Fran Drescher and the cast of A Christmas Story.
Days of Our Lives (NBC) Check local listings
Yep, the WilSon drama is all about Gabi today. Again. Thankfully, you can still get all that Gabi with a side of snark as we liveblog tonight's episode starting at 1PM Eastern!
Raising Hope (Fox) 8:00 PMET
This week brings the revelation that Jimmy suffered from "Angry Bowel System". I think that means we should expect fat jokes.
NCIS (CBS) 8:00 PM ET
For those of you who miss River Song, tonight's episode has Alex Kingston as... a "well-connected woman with questionable morals". So, the NCIS version of River Song?
The Voice (NBC) 8:00 PM ET
Hey Muppet fans, tonight's results show has Cee Lo performing "Bein' Green" with Kermit the Frog. There will be appearances by other Muppets as well.
Ben & Kate (Fox) 8:30 PM ET
I have a short fuse for the lovable manchild character type, and the Ben of Ben & Kate wore out my patience especially quickly. However, tonight's episode does have Leslie Grossman (best known as Mary Cherry from Popular). That makes it worth tuning in, even if Ben is still unbearable.
New Girl (Fox) 9:00 PM ET
One of the more overused plots for female characters in sitcoms has been "ticking biological clock" anxiety. New Girl has been good at avoiding tired cliches, so maybe they'll put a fresh spin on it in an episode where Jess feels a bit of baby panic when she learns that a friend is pregnant.
Flipping Out (Bravo) 9:00 PM ET
You knew we'd have to get to this point eventually. Jeff's paranoia and possessiveness has taken his relationship with Jenni to the point that the two are thinking of going their separate ways. Jeff chasing away his friends has been a theme of the series and if Jenni leaves, that brings the show full circle in a way that makes for a great point to say goodbye to the series.
Go On (NBC) 9:00 PM ET
Ryan (Matthew Perry) decides he's ready to start dating again. We've already seen him make a romantic move on his college pal, maybe he's ready to deal with writing an online profile, speed dating and dodging friends' set-up attempts.
The New Normal (NBC) 9:30 PM ET
Shannen Doherty shows up in tonight's episode as... well, we've got her character's name and not much else. At this point, any big name guest stars on The New Normal makes me a little disappointed there's no air date, yet, for the Halloween episode that had George Takei.
Chopped (Food Network) 10:00 PM ET
Sure, the mystery baskets offer their surprises, but how do the chefs handle a failing ice cream maker?
The Baby Wait (Logo) 10:00 PM ET
This week turns to the story of Josh and Joe an Indiana couple who have to worry about state laws that also give the biological father 30 days to claim custody of the baby.
Leverage (TNT) 10:00 PM ET
TNT's bringing back its heist drama for the holidays, which is apt if you mostly focus on the end where the Leverage team gives their clients all the loot.
The Colbert Report (Comedy Central) 11:30 PM ET
Dolly Parton has a new memoir out and that means we get to see her deal with Colbert's er... unique style of interviewing.
Watch What Happens Live (Bravo) 11:00 PM ET
Tonight's show combines Joan Collins with Million Dollar Decorators'Martyn Lawrence-Bullard.
