- Continuing the 50 Greatest 80's TV Theme Songs/Openings!, Here's #48, Flamingo Road.
- Flamingo Road aired on NBC from January 1981 to May 1992, and is the first of two shows on the list starring the faboo Morgan Fairchild (you'll see the other one near the end of the countdown). No one played the icy blond bitch on TV better then Morgan in the late 70's and early 80's (just ask Kay Lenz), and her role as Constance on this show helped cement that reputation. It also had the double stud whammy of Woody Brown and a young Mark Harmon, (I'd include John Beck, but that stache is overwhelming) as well as a gaggle of golden age stars ... and Stella Stevens! Sadly, it's soapy goodness was short-lived, but the memorable theme music (a tropical riff on the classic primetime soap instrumental) will live on.
