Will Jonathan Groff get you watching Boss' second season?
News
David Alpay of The Borgias will appear on The Vampire Diaries as a professor who has a history with the Bennett family.
Veronica Mars fave Tina Majorino has booked a guest-appearance on Grey's Anatomy.
Buffy-alum-turned-screenwriter Danny Strong has sold his first pilot, a legal drama inspired by a real-life father/daughter lawyer team.
We now know what Jon Hamm's role on Bob's Burgers will be — he'll voice a high-end talking toilet (the kind you see on Million Dollar Listing, I imagine) that falls off the truck and is found by Gene, which turns out to be the beginning of a new friendship.
AMC has ordered a second season of its advertising reality show The Pitch as well as two new reality series, a taxidermy competition show (you read that right) and one about the Venice Beach Freakshow. Why does the network with two of television's best dramas seem to be targeting a completely different audience with its reality shows?
HBO has ordered a comedy from mockumentary master Christopher Guest. Family Tree, which will follow the style of Guest's movies, will star Chris O'Dowd as a man who starts investigating his family tree and starts discovering a colorful family history.
I didn't expect The Facts of Life and reality TV to cross twice in one week but the rumor mill is saying that Lisa Whelchel will be on the upcoming season of Survivor. I have no idea what to think of that but I probably would watch.
Who are The Simpsons' writers' favorite obscure characters? Personally, I'm still hoping they do an episode where Itchy & Scratchy dig into the vaults and revive Surly Goat.

Boss (Starz) 9:00 PM ET
I never got around to sampling Starz's political drama starring Kelsey Grammer as a Chicago mayor but this season begs for my attention with the addition of Jonathan Groff as Mayor Tom Kane's new right hand man. Anyone pick this up the first time around?
Bullet in the Face (IFC) 10:00 PM ET
Okay the pilot was rough in spots and that German accent borders on cartoonish but what's up with the police partner? It seems like they're hinting pretty heavily that he was in love (a relationship, perhaps?) with his former partner, which seems pretty apt for the kind of movies this show is mocking.
Inocente (MTV) 10:00 PM ET
MTV gives a human face to the issue of immigration with this documentary that profiles a 15-year-old artist and undocumented immigrant who has also been homeless since her father was deported nine years ago.
Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) 10:00 PM ET
HBO's late night talk show returns with an interview with Chelsea Handler while Mark Cuban, Reihan Salam and Alex Wagner sit at the roundtable.
John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show (Comedy Central) 11:00 PM ET
This week's show has Michael Che, Iliza Shlesinger, Hari Kondabolu and Michael Ian Black performing. I dont' think I've seen Black perform stand-up comedy before, so that should be interesting.
OWN gets its own big family show with 10 Kids 2 Dads.

The Timey-Wimey Stuff of Doctor Who (BBC America) 9:00 PM ET
The next Doctor Who special takes a look at all the confusion that comes from hanging around The Doctor, where one day you're in the far-future and the next you're asking Queen Victoria if she found that amusing ... and that's before you get to fireplaces that lead to 18th century France.
The Nerdist (BBC America) 10:00 PM ET
What better way to prepare for a trip back in time than to pay tribute to time travel, and that includes a visit from Copper's Tom Weston-Jones?
10 Kids 2 Dads (OWN) 10:00 PM ET
OWN takes a look at a family made up of two dads raising 10 boys in a conservative suburb of Detroit, where they deal with the little issues of being parents, like lemonade stands. At the very least, it sounds a great antidote to those reality shows that mix really big families with far-right Christianity.
Is it inappropriate for me to hope that the theme song for Copper is Kylie's "Step Back in Time?"
Sunday's Listings
Drop Dead Diva (Lifetime) 9:00 PM ET
Harrison-Parker takes on a gay case this week as Grayson and Kim help a gay sperm donor who wants visitation rights to his biological child. One major complication in the case — the ban on gay men giving blood also applies to sperm. Meanwhile, Terri and Luke make sure there's no lack of wacky hijinx by posing as Jane and Owen to the wedding caterer.
True Blood (HBO) 9:00 PM ET
Why is Jessica lying in the ground with Jason? Can there be no human Stackhouses in Bon Temps? This season has been as crazy as every one of Russel's expressions.
The Great Food Truck Race (Food Network) 10:00 PM ET
After a first season that drew a surprising amount of good buzz, followed by a second season that mirrored the recent descent of Top Chef, like the producers sat in a room and said, "We got praise for being a substantive competition show... so lets throw that out for twists and Tyler Florence's imitation of a supervillain visiting the food court." Will the third season bring a return to quality or will Florence start cackling after he calls the food trucks to announce the new twist?
Breaking Bad (AMC) 10:00 PM ET
So far, a big part of Breaking Bad's success is that it may deliver shocking moments, but it's not a show that shocks just for the sake of it. That quality gets put to the test as they deal with the aftermath of last week's train robbery — will there be aftereffects like with Krasy 8 or Tuco? Also, Jesse comes over for dinner at the White household — this would be the first time they've met since Sky thought Jesse was Walt's pot dealer, right? (Oh, what innocent days.)
Copper (BBC America) 10:00 PM ET
BBC America's first original scripted series is a period police drama from the creators of Oz and Homicide: Life on the Streets. This one is set in Civil War Era New York City, a setting that doesn't get explored very often (Gangs of New York aside) so I'm hoping this one turns out to be as interesting as the concepts.
Political Animals (USA) 10:00 PM ET
Are we already at the finale for the first season this limited series event? Things come to a close as Elaine finds its time to implement her plan to go from Secretary of State to 2012's Ted Kennedy. I'll be watching dealing with the conflicting desire to see Sebastian Stan in another love scene with a guy while also cheering for TJ to stay clearn.

Monday's Preview
Live! with Kelly (syndicated) Check local listings
I think Monday's episode with Tim Gunn is a new one, but with the way Live! has been disguising its reruns, I'm still not sure.
The Inbetweeners (MTV) 10:30 PM ET
MTV takes on another British series, let's hope there were some lessons learned after Skins failed.
