- It behooves me to say that Square Pegs does not rank high on this list, for the simple reason that the classic theme song by The Waitresses that we all know and love was actually the closing theme, and therefore loses major points for this countdown, and because the actual opening is rather dull (but does include the immortal "Not even with cleavage!"). It aired on CBS from September 27, 1982 – March 27, 1983, and one is the most fondly remembered (if short-lived) shows of the decade. You can see the opening below, followed by the ending of the pilot episode, with The Waitresses on stage performing the theme.
