George Clooney is a bit of joker, so I'm just going to assume what he told Italy's Max was his version of humor. “I never fixed my eyes, but I spent more money to stretch the skin of my testicles. I did not like the wrinkles. It’s a new technique, many people in Hollywood have done it. It’s called ball ironing.” It's actually called a scrotal lift, and is a real thing.
Chuck Hagelhas written an apology to Democrats for, well, every position he's ever taken, from gays to Israel. On the plus side, he promises to do everything within his power to get same-sex military spouses equal benefits.
I'm sure that this technique for splicing genes is interesting, but I can't get past the fact that the illustration looks like a penis car.
Congratulations to Sir Elton John and David Furnish, who welcomed their second son, Elijah Joseph Daniel last Friday. Their son Zachary turned two on Christmas day. “Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable. The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. ”
Carrie Underwood has already come out in favor of marriage equality, and she's explaining herself further. "I'm in favor of acceptance. And I am a Christian person, and I do love the Lord, and I feel no matter who you are, what you believe, how you live your life, it's not my place to judge. I don't have that power. I don't want that power. It's my place to love and to show God's love to other people, even if they don't live a life like I live. So that's where I'm coming from."
We've featured several stories about Louisiana and their quest to teach Creationism as a science, and the people who have fought back against it (including one AE reader who wrote me a note after the last story.) But who knew that a 19 year old college student would be the biggest opponent of religion posing as science? When I read about these kids, I think I wasted my youth.
What movies do the critics think were the worst of 2012? I never would have guessed they hated This Means War the most, but then again, I don't think that much about that movie at all.
EWhas an interview withJames Franco about Interior. Leather Bar. Some of the quotes are great, like why he didn't engage in the sex. "I play a dual role in this project. I co-directed and designed it with Travis, but I’m also in front of the camera, and my presence in front of the camera is an important component of the movie. Maybe the sequel, I engage in the sex. It wasn’t my job to do that in this piece. In some ways, that would put too much focus on myself, I think, the focus I was actually having sex in front of a camera. That would take all the attention." But the driving force behind the movie is revealed in the NSFW clip that they ran. Stay past the spanking for the conversation.
Ryan Gosling's body is a source of wonder for many of us. But keeping those pecs going is like having a dog. "Anyone can get those (pecs) if they work at it. It's just a lot of exercising. And it's really quite pointless, because you go to a gym and you lift a heavy thing so a muscle grows, but the only thing the muscle can actually do is to lift that heavy thing. After a while they're like pets because they don't do anything useful. But you have to feed them and take care of them otherwise they'll go away. I feel a bit goofy having them, to tell you the truth."
Speaker Boehner has again quietly raised the payout limit for defending DOMA to $3 million, from the original $500,000. Rep. Pelosi is not happy. "Let us be clear: these steps do not reflect the will of the House or the consensus of the BLAG. Democrats do not support any decisions to invest taxpayer funds in defense of an indefensible law. We remain united in our opposition to any effort to preserve, protect, and defend discrimination in our country."
On their new Rhode Island site, the National Organization for Marriage posted videos calling homosexuality a sin, and "the wages of sins is death." That was just one of the quotes used before the video was pulled down, and you really need to read the rest at NOM Exposed.
My friend David Mixnerhas a wonderful story about the WE DO Campaign spreading out for the right to marriage in the south, and postulates "Wouldn't be great if the week that the Supreme Court hears our case that thousands of couples all over America that can't get legally married in their states go to the Court House and demand justice. In states, like New York where we have marriage, we can fill Times Square in a candle light vigil supporting them that week."
Mohawked science stud Bobak Ferdowsiis going toPresident Obama's inauguration. "The things we do, the exploration we do, is not just about learning about other planets. It's about understanding our own. NASA gives us a chance to travel outside our world as a way to look back and learn about ourselves as a species—as people. There's nowhere else in the world where you get to do that." Ferdowsi says he has a top secret hairdo planned for the parade.
Honey Boo Boo's gay Uncle Poodlehas revealed that he's HIV+. He was infected by an ex-boyfriend who failed to reveal his status. The ex is now serving five years for that after Uncle Poodle prosecuted. Poodle says he would have been fine with the ex's HIV status if he'd revealed it so he could protect himself. I understand the anger, but the fact that we prosecute people for infecting others is a major problem, leading to people not being tested just so they don't know, making the problem worse. HIV prosecution laws have to be repealed so saner methods can prevail.
Cameron Monaghan celebrated the return of Shameless by hitting the beach
Many people have commented on Jodie Foster's unique coming out at the Golden Globes, and I have many conflicting opinions on the subject, but perhaps my favorite commentarycomes via HijiNKS ENSUE in the form of Josh coming out to Joel.
Many thanks to Joel Watson for permission to run his comic
Now that's he's going to admit to doping, Lance Armstrong has one remaining endorsement option

Fuzzy pop-folk musician and friend of mineAiden James has released the music video for "Hurry Hurry" which could easily be called "Furry Furry." But it beautifully captures that urgent need to get to the one you love.
Fab Magazine recently put out a sexy beard issue, which is something I can get behind, especially in the cold of winter. Who wouldn't want to snuggle up to these guys to keep warm? I'm sure Aiden James would approve.
Funny or Die gives us a mind-reading version of Jodie Foster's speech at the Golden Globes, with closed captions providing a more direct version of her rambling speech.
When winter strikes, they pop up everywhere, just staring, looking innocent. But what if snowmen are just waiting for their chance to take over the world (much like cats)? In that case, you need to know the Top 10 Ways To Destroy a Snowman, helpfully presented in slow motion.
In the latest version of Neil's Puppet Dreams, we discover something that we probably always assumed about Neil - he loves a good probing. But will he be able to convince the aliens to probe him since he's a famous dude with influence? Let's hope so, because who couldn't use a good probing?
Eric Decker of the Denver Broncos wants to show us his muscles and sell us ProActiv. My problem with it is the sexist way he presents it, that no, ProActiv isn't too girly. It's 2013, and I think we can dispense with the idea that an acne treatment is gender specific. I'm pretty disappointed in everyone involved with this commercial.
Broadway Bares will be presenting Winter Burlesque. My bucket list has a line item about getting to New York to see the full production of Broadway Bares before I die, and this just reinforces the need to make that happen.
Coca-Cola is taking a lot of flak for putting out this anti-obesity ad. I'm actually willing to cut them some slack. I have a huge soda addiction, and when I was unemployed a few years ago and sedentary a lot, I put on 20 lbs right around my waist. I was also drinking about eight bottles of Coke each day. I switched to Coke Zero and dropped the weight. Now I drink more water and less soda in general, but I do believe that reducing your sweetened soda intake can make a huge difference. It did for me.
