"Girls" Best Moments GIF'd!: Andrew Rannells is High on Life (and Drugs)

Girls' new episode had two freakishly simple storylines on Sunday night, and both ruled: 1) Hannah (Lena Dunham) decides to take cocaine and log her experience so she can score a paid writing assignment; 2) Marnie reunites with sinister artist Booth Jonathan (Jorma Taccone, of SNL's Lonely Island troupe), and that means going to his artsy house, experiencing one of his hilariously pretentious art installations, and then bedding him. Amazingly, the sex was kind of an art installation too. Oh, art! It's inside you, Marnie.

Let's take a GIF stroll through the episode's finest moments.

Elijah (Andrew Rannells) decides to join his bold roomie Hannah on her virgin voyage into nose candy. Please observe that he makes it sound like the most enjoyably violent experience ever.

The word to describe Elijah is twerp. His insights are twerpy, his "introspective" moments are twerpy, and his recklessness is twerpiest of all. Sorry to see he'll be leaving the series soon. He's cute and kind of amoral, and we need that gay guy on the air.

2. Coke apparently makes you blisteringly funny.

Hannah scored her cocaine from a onetime junkie who still has a few psychological issues. (Yes, that's him leering in back here, since he stalked Hannah and Elijah the entire night). Somehow his blank expression is the best part of this GIF, depicting when Hannah and Elijah -- high as all get out -- pay a visit to Booth Jonathan's after they hear that Marnie is there. Naturally, Booth Jonathan's abode was a stately hipster mansion with bars on the door. Elijah wasn't too impressed with the finishings, as you can see.

3. Booth Jonathan is so condescending and sleazy, and I'd do him.

Booth spots Marnie at her hostessing gig and asks, "So, you work here, huh? That's f*cking depressing." Naturally, a statement that blunt could only be a prelude to an afternoon tryst, and soon enough Booth swept Marnie back to his barred lair. I just love the blatant douchebaggery of this guy. The unbearable self-importance. The un-comely facial hair. The condescending stares. I will marry him.

4. Booth is so pretentious, and Marnie is so stupid.

Upon getting Marnie to his house, Booth locks her inside his art installation -- a cramped room of video screens playing disturbing imagery. Marnie suffers through the pictures of screaming infants and violence well enough, but she emerges so dazed and transformed that you assume she's entered a Patti Hearst state of mind. Booth doesn't care that he's forced her into his art against her will; he just wants to know if she thinks he's brilliant. Luckily, she does. They have sex! And it is very visible. Thank you, HBO!

5. The best: Cocaine makes everyone honest and insufferable.

Before the coke trek takes a turn for the worst and Elijah admits he slept with Marnie (which eventually makes Hannah scold Marnie and call off her roomie-ship with Elijah!), Hannah has a couple of confessions of her own. This is my favorite from her dancefloor stupor: "It is my greatest dream to have sex with myself!" she announces while wearing a fruit-print top and skirt that Elijah picked out. "But it is also my worst nightmare," she adds. Yes, this episode is about theatrical craziness that may seem a little forced or insincere, but I laughed my ass off at Hannah's hard-thrusting dance mania. Elijah looks pretty sexy too, as he bobs with the music like a hypnotized go-go boy. Yum.

What were your favorite Girls moments?
