The Voice's judges strike a pose before they're stuck in those chairs for the next few months.

I hope your DVR is clear, since fall TV is starting to kick off and TV schedules are suddenly getting packed...

News

Wilmer Valderrama will be returning to Suburgatory, just to make Chatswin sexier. Oh, and to help Yakult deal with depression, but mostly he'll be bringing the sexy.

For some reason the Canadian crime drama Diamonds is stuck in my memory. Maybe its the catchy theme song, or the fun concept, or that one time Nicholas Campbell was shirtless. The show followed a couple of actors who bought a detective agency as a publicity stunt and end up running it when their detective show is cancelled. I'm bringing it up since the CW is developing a drama that sounds like Diamonds but with two former boyband members. That's right, the CW is developing a show about boyband detectives. I think that's called sticking to your strengths as you expand your focus.

Yes! Liza Minnelli will be appearing in the new season of Arrested Development. Honestly, I can't think of any character I'd like to see return more... except maybe Mr. F (either one), and that's for a return visit to Wee Britain.

Leave it to dedicated, old-school Doctor Who fans to come up with a guide to the different kind of Daleks featured in the season premiere. Bravos all around.

I have to admit, Buzzfeed's infographic about GLBT characters in soap operas certainly brings back memories. That said, doesn't the title of first transgender character go to the short lived The City? And doesn't Kish deserve some kind of mention somewhere?

Emmy voters will have to cast new ballots thanks to a mix-up with screener DVDs. In the categories of Lead Comedy Actress and Supporting Actor, Zooey Deschanel and Max Greenfield's episodes were mixed up.

Speaking of New Girl, Rob Riggle will be appearing on an episode as... Schmidt. Or, rather, he'll be playing Schmidt's rival-slash-cousin, who also goes by Schmidt.

One of the signs of how TV drama has advanced in the past few years: dramas like Breaking Bad and Homeland expect viewers to psychoanalyze the characters without simple answers or a guide explaining how viewers should interpret scenes.

This would be a great way to get me never watch The X-Factor.

Moving the Video Music Awards from Sunday to Thursday is looking like a bad idea for MTV. The Awards Ceremony saw its ratings drop by 50% since last year.

Anderson Live (syndicated) Check local lisitings
Alright, I like Coop, especially when he admits to being addicted to trashy TV. He usually comes off as a smart guy who knows he's turning to brain candy in between world crises. I was expecting to see that guy when his talk show debuted last year, but was disappointed. I'm not sure if the new set and going live will bring out the show I was hoping to see last year, but with Kristin Chenoweth guest-hosting and Beyonce sitting for an interview, I'll be giving him another chance — even if the rest of today's guests are Honey Boo Boo and her mom June along with "Tan Mom" Patricia Krentcil.

The Ricki Lake Show (syndicated) Check local listings
After conquering the daytime landscape once, can Ricki do it again with a show focused on parenting, relationships and health? I've got my fingers crossed, considering how Ricki was a reliable ally during the run of her original show.

The Wendy Williams Show (syndicated) Check local listings
The Scissor Sisters are helping Wendy kick off a new season with a performance of "Let's Have a KiKi". However, first comes interviews with Maksim Chmerkovskiy and designer Joe Zee. (We'll have an interview of our own with Zee later today.)

The Pyramid (GSN) 6:00 PM ET
In case you haven't checked out GSN's update of the classic game show, this week has Jai Rodriguez competing against Chandra Wilson to motivate you to program your DVR.

The L.A. Complex (CW) 8:00 PM ET
Aw, I was hoping Connor hitting it off with his girlfriend's ex-husband would finally lead to a guy in a bi-for-sweeps (okay, I know it's not sweeps) storyline. Meanwhile Kal heads back to the studio... and asks Abby to record backing vocals? I hope this means Kal's trying to make amends on the way to putting his demons behind him. Considering the ratings, I really want to see Kal's story reach a bit of closure before the season finale.

Switched at Birth (ABC Family) 8:00 PM ET
There's plenty of repercussions following Regina's sudden wedding, looks like everyone turns to their hobbies to deal with the stress since we've also got Bay returning to her street art, Daphne digging up her zombie movie and John worrying about his old record.

The Voice (NBC) 8:00 PM ET
Adam, Blake, Cee Lo and Christina are back in their swivel chairs. However, after a couple seasons where the energy of the auditions got sapped by the battle rounds, The Voice is trying something different — but, at least, in the meantime we know the auditions are a reliably great part of the show.

Major Crimes (TNT) 9:00 PM ET
I'm just loving the relationship between fragile, surly Rusty and the calmly guarded nature of Sharon, at this point I'm watching to see Rusty's interactions with the cast as much as the case of the week, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tonight's episode that sees the crime lab test Rusty's DNA and make a few discoveries.

Warehouse 13 (Syfy) 9:00 PM ET
With Claudia in the loop about those phantom pains, she and Steve join Artie trying to track down Brother Arden... and Jinksie back in action means he's gets to carry a big gun.

The New Normal (NBC) 10:00 PM ET
Here we go, I've been wondering for the past three months if you can make a watchable series out of Brothers & Sisters' most unbearable Kevin and Scotty storyline. Tonight, I begin to get an answer.

NewNowNext Vote with Wanda Sykes (Logo) 10:00 PM ET
While cable news (okay, it's mostly MSNBC and Current) has been getting better about covering gay issues, it can't compare to dedicating an hour to focusing on those issues. After giving viewers a special with the Democratic candidates during the primaries four years ago, Logo is offering two specials where Wanda Sykes discusses the issues with a panel of GLBT guests.

Watch What Happens Live (Bravo) 11:00 PM ET
Andy's guests are Aviva Drescher (do those New York/New Jersey Housewives wait in a Bravo hallway hoping Andy will have a chair free?) and Nancy Grace.

Chelsea Lately (E!) 11:00 PM ET
Chelsea has Ross Mathews on the panel while her interview guest is Nina Dobrev. If Chelsea ends up geeking out about The Vampire Diaries, it should be pretty amazing.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (NBC) 12:35 AM ET
Andrew Rannells will be appearing tonight to talk up The New Normal.

What will you be watching tonight? Please share in the comments!

Tomorrow's Preview

Anderson Live (syndicated) Check local listings
Anderson is joined by Niecy Nash tomorrow as he talks to a surprise celebrity guest and one of the Jersey Housewives. Oh, Anderson, don't get me to start thinking of you as the Andy Cohen of daytime.

White Collar (USA) 9:00 PM ET
Yeah, there are a lot of highlights on TV tomorrow night, but every time I run across a promo pic from tomorrow's White Collar, which includes a boxing match between Peter and Neal, and I get distracted by the shirtless s.

Trivia Triptych

Congratulations to agent99 who was the first to find the solution to this week's trivia challenge.

All three actors Teri Garr, Patricia Heaton and Delta Burke starred together in the short-lived Designing Women spin-off Women of the House.
