I'm hoping (vainly, probably) Syfy's Hot Set uses a repurposed version of "Hot Night" as its theme.

News

Manimal, one of the most infamous bombs of 80s TV, is being turned into a movie. That means I can keep hoping for an Otherworld remake, right? (I'd also take Automan if it features a hologram Laura Branigan reprising her role. Hey, I managed to make two references to the same Laura Branigan song before the second paragraph!)

Parks & Recreation's Retta has a popular Twitter presence for her tweetcapping of TV shows (apparently she's currently working on season 3 of Buffysigning up for Twitter

As rumored, the next season of The Voice will have a different panel of judges with Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green taking a break (it sounds like they'll be back next fall) and replaced by Shakira and Usher.

I don't usually care enough about 90210 casting developments to pass them along, but I'm still fond enough of The Middleman and White Collar alum Natalie Morales to be intrigued by the news that she's taken a recurring role. Whether I tune in still depends on whether or not Teddy sticks around or not.

Would you pay $5 to watch Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly debate? I barely make it through Stewart interviewing O'Reilly on The Daily Show, and that's included in my cable bill.

Carol Burnett may be joining Malibu Country. With this much talent, I suspect we're going to get really annoyed if Malibu Country isn't a comedy with amazing writing.

Annie Potts joined the cast of USA's comedy pilot Paging Dr. Freed about two gynecologist brothers who inherit their father's practice after he dies. Potts will play the two brothers' overbearing mother, joining a cast that includes Kyle Howard, Joel David Moore and Leslie Grossman.

This idea that video on demand is going to make DVRs obsolete sounds like wishful thinking to me. Not, at least, until cable companies take care of the bandwidth issues. Presently, I'm more likely to get an error message with VOD than the show I want to watch.

How I Met Your Mother creator Carter Bays tweeted that Robin Sparkles took inspiration from Chris Elliott's cult comedy Get a Life and the professional name Elliott takes when he tries to become a model. Heh, I remember that episode.

Weeds wrapped things up on a relatively high note. The series finale hit a season high in the ratings, drawing 864 thousand viewers. However, that's a big dip from the show's best days when over 1.2 million people watched the season premiere of the three earlier seasons.

Anderson Live (syndicated) Check local listings
I am feeling so mixed by today's episode as Anderson spends "True Crime Tuesday" talking to the wrongly-imprisoned Damien Echols. That's an important issue and I'd like to see Anderson discuss current events — but with Inside Edition anchor Deborah Norville as his guest host? There go my hopes of Anderson channeling Phil Donahue.

The Jeff Probst Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Today's show has Jeff Lewis and Zoila on to talk about their work relationship. I think I'm going to have to stretch my cringing muscles to prepare to watch it.

Days of Our Lives (NBC) Check local listings
I guess WilSon's new obstacle is Adrienne who can't support her son dating a DiMera. I wished Emma Pilsbury lived in Salem, I'd love to see her "How to talk to your child about not dating the DiMera family" pamphlet since that topic seems to come up on Days a lot. Be sure to join us today for a liveblog starting at 1PM Eastern!

Joy Behar: Say Anything (Current) 6:00 PM ET
Joy's forming "The SHE Party" this week, gathering a lineup of political women to discuss current topics thankfully we missed the increasingly-ridiculous Naomi Wolf last night, since tonight's line-up, with Susan Sarandon and Cyndi Lauper talking with Joy.

So You Think You Can Dance (Fox) 8:00 PM ET
It's time for the big finale, and not only does that include crowning the winner, tonight's show promises the Top Twenty dancers returning for a performance and Carly Rae Jepsen singing her new single, "This Kiss".

Face Off (Syfy) 9:00 PM ET
Kevin Smith is tonight's guest-judge as the remaining artists try to create superheroes and sidekicks, taking inspiration from their vehicles.

White Collar (USA) 9:00 PM ET
I didn't expect this to be complaining about network publicity day but tonight's mid-season finale has Scott Evans (thanks ltklo!), who isn't featured in any of the publicity pix. Keep your fingers crossed we get to see enough of him as Peter and Neal try to stop a thief from stealing from the FBI.

Flipping Out (Bravo) 9:00 PM ET
Oh, look, it's Jeff getting mad with one of his new design assistants. At this point I'm starting to wonder if we'd notice if they just hired actors to recreate scenes from the early seasons around Jeff and changed a few nouns.

Go On (NBC) 9:00 PM ET
I guess NBC's scheduling department doesn't talk to their publicity department when they switched episodes (this week was supposed to be the cat hoarding episode) so if you were hoping to see the beginning of a Ryan/Steven bromance last week, I think this is the week.

The New Normal (NBC) 9:30 PM ET
After making me wish my partner got Grey Gardens references, tonight Shania decides that Bryan's baby clothes shopping spree is a reason to try fitting into baby clothes. Did anyone watch the pilot and predict that Shania was going to totally steal the series?

Hot Set (Syfy) 10:00 PM ET
After impressing us with what make-up artists can create, Syfy gives set designers a chance to show their talent. Unlike Face Off there are new competitors every week, but I imagine it would be exhausting to watch a full cast build a set every week. I just hope that doesn't scale back the drama since I'll have to scroll through most of my cable company's adult programming to record this one.

Covert Affairs (USA) 10:00 PM ET
Since she's so good at following instructions (I'd hate to see her work with any of the CIA handlers on Burn Notice) Annie spends her recuperating time conducting her own search for Lena.

All the Right Moves (Oxygen) 10:00 PM ET
Shaping Sound's big debut is nearing, but Travis has his own solo performance to keep him busy.

Watch What Happens Live (Bravo) 11:00 PM ET
Cloris Leachman is there for the second half of a Jeff Lewis double-feature. Er, does Andy know what he's in for by scheduling two guests who have fun by messing with people?

What will you be watching tonight? Please share in the comments!

Tomorrow's Preview

Anderson Live (syndicated) Check local listings
Cyndi Lauper is Anderson's guest-host tomorrow. I'm ignoring that his guests are Jon Cryer and the cast of Bayou Billionaires.

The Wendy Williams Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Anderson Cooper is visiting Wendy tomorrow. This should be fun

Days of Our Lives (NBC) Check local listings
It's time for Will to yell at Sami and Kate about that "screwing up your love life" gene. We're planning on following this one with a liveblog.
