Our own dear snicks has retired to the AfterElton infirmary with a serious case of the flu, so I'm filling in for him for today's Briefs. Think good thoughts for him and hopefully he'll be back on his feet tomorrow.

Perhaps two Jack Donaghys will make snicks feel better.
- Happy Birthday to everyone's second favorite Baldwin, William (above left), who turns 50! Okay, time to name your top five William Baldwin love interests. Mine are: 5. Chynna Phillips (wife), 4. Cindy Crawford (Fair Game), 3. Kelly Lynch (Three of Hearts), 2. Sharon Stone (Sliver) and of course 1. Candis Cayne(Dirty Sexy Money).
- Also celebrating birthdays are David Geffen who is 70, Christopher Atkins is 52, Tyne Daly is 67, Christine Ebersole is 60, Jennifer Love Hewitt is 34 and Ellen Page is 26.
- This morning Ed posted a pro-gay marriage ad produced by the outfit Respect for Marriage. The ad includes sound bites from prominent figures - people like Colin Powell,Dick Cheney and Laura Bush (all of whom might hold some sway with a conservative audience). Laura Bush let it be known today she was not happy with her inclusion in the ad and wants her soundbite (taken from a Larry King appearance) removed. Her quote was: "When couples are committed they ought to have the same rights that everyone else has." It doesn't say anywhere in the ad that Laura Bush was endorsing it, and it's not as if her soundbite was manipulated to change the meaning. So what is Laura Bush saying here? That she has since changed her mind on the subject? She's a public figure. She made a public statement. I don't think she has any cause to complain.
- Anderson Cooperwill receiveGLAAD's annual Vito Russo award on March 16th. The award is presented to an openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality. Cooper will join previous honorees Ricky Martin, Rosie O'Donnell, and Elton John. Way to go, AC!

- My favorite Drag Race alumna Shangela shares her picks in each of the major Oscar categories this year. Oh, and she's a solid write-in vote for Best Visual Effects.

- Congrats to Mr. Robby who correctly guessed that yesterday's Pixuzzle™ © ® was Happy Gilmore. (How do you people get these things? snicks' Pixuzzle selections always completely stump me.)
