The 5 Greatest Moments of The NewNowNext Awards!

The NewNowNext Awards featured great moments from Chelsea Handler, Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears, and Ke$ha (who, by the way, was an awesome red carpet interview -- she sang a few bars of her mother's song "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You" for me!), but if I had to narrow the show down to my five favorite moments, I'd select the following priceless bits. Join me for a recap of the best performances and acceptance speeches.

1. Tegan and Sara perform the hell out of "Closer."

Tegan and Sara have a rambunctious energy, and they owned the NNN stage the minute they stomped in unison and started belting from within a storm of colorful balloons. These guys are total pros (and out lesbian twins!) with surprising command considering their teeeeny statures. And hey, look: That's Azealia Banks

2. Your eliminated Drag Race queens rise from the dead like zombies.

If you thought Vivienne Pinay and Alyssa Edwards were gone for good, watch your back. At the opening of the show, Aisha Tyler boogied alongside those un-dead girls and Serena Cha-Cha, Honey Mahogany, and Coco Montrese, and the results were a winning mix of "Thriller" movies, Walking Dead iconography, and (duh) gay pride. Speaking of which...

3. Dan Bucatinsky and Jeff Perry make gay Scandal fans proud.

Just try not to cheer when our man Dan Bucatinsky talks about being a gay father on TV and in real life. And then try not to applaud again when Jeff Perry makes a funny observation about their characters on Scandal

4. Andrew Rannells references Sandra Bullock's Oscar speech in the weirdest (and funniest?) moment of the night.

Why didn't Andrew Rannells namedrop his boyfriend when accepting his award for Next Mega Star? Because of Sandra Bullock and Jesse James, of course. This speech is kind of kooky, but I loved that he shouted out both The New Normal and Girls. Also: He is sexy as hell.

5. Best moment of the night: Shahs of Sunset star Reza Farahan's message to Republicans.

Not even Kathy Griffin has ordered Republicans to "suck my award," but Shahs of Sunset star Reza Farahan does just that in this sweet, funny speech. I also love when he announces that his mother accepted his "gay ass" since the day he was born. Andy Cohen, you know how to pick 'em. This guy rules.

What were your favorite NewNowNext moments? Personally, I think this was the greatest year yet, and I'm not just saying that because I got to ask Kylie Minogue about Little Eva
