The newest season of The Challenge has a cast so big
a group photo almost looks like a

The CW's Arrow may not be copying the tone of Smallville, but it's certainly trying to duplicate the series' hunkiness. The latest geek-fave hottie set to appear on the show is Tahmoh Penikett, who will play a member of the Bertinelli mob.

In excellent news for comedy, FX has ordered a "second cycle" of Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. The cycle will consist of seven episodes and air after Brand X with Russell Brand.

HBO is turning to Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro to help adapt a series based on Corinne May Boltz's book The Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death, which follows a woman who developed a training course for forensic investigations in the 1940s that are still in use today.

The State alum Jo Lo Truglio will appear in two episodes of How I Met Your Mother as Marshall's new boss.

The third season of Happily Divorced will include guest appearances by Joan Collins, Cyndi Lauper and Robert Wagner.

Yeah, social media buzz can't predict a hit, but from my experience it's a reliable indicator of which shows will get a good premiere. From there, becoming a hit is a question of how much the show entertains viewers, which is what ad buyers are trying to predict.

The New Normal is about to get a lot gayer. The show is adding a lesbian couple played by Constance Zimmer and The L Word alum Leisha Hailey while John Benjamin Hickey will appear in a pivotal guest role.

The Playboy Club creator Chad Hodge is getting busy. In addition to a drama based on Miranda Lambert's life, he's now writing Wunderland, a CW project that reimagines Alice in Wonderland as a story about a female detective who discovers another world existing under Los Angeles.

After hinting at Jeff's issues with his dad for three seasons, Community is going to introduce us to the man, who will be played by James Brolin.

The cast of Malcolm in the Middle, reunited for the first time since the series ended six years ago, with Erik Per Sulivan missing. I tried to see if I could spot out director Todd Holland (who directed several episodes, including the pilot and another Emmy-winning episode) but I don't run into enough pictures of him to recognize him.

Will's in a funk because of what he heard Adrienne said about him. I'm sure he can turn to Sami and Kate for some calm, well-reasoned advice. Meanwhile, you can turn to us for a liveblog starting at 1PM Eastern!

Yeah, sure there are three returnning competitors, all people who left because of health reasons (thankfully, Colton isn't one of them), but who isn't primarily tuning in to see The Facts of Life alum Lisa Whelchel try to handle the challenges of life in the wild? (Especially without any access to hot sauce... and not for the reasons why I'd miss hot sauce.) At least we have one representative from Team Gay, with lesbian Dana Lambert.

Ghost Hunters (Syfy) 9:00 PM ET
The TAPS team heads to New Orleans to investigate a gay bar, Jimani Lounge, which was the scene of a tragedy in 1973 when an arsonist set fire to the bar, killing 32 men who were trapped inside — some whose bodies couldn't be identified. Out Ghost Hunter Adam Berry steps up in this one.

The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons (MTV) 10:00 PM ET
The newest season of Keeping Former Real World Castmembers from Having to Learn Skills The Challenge is a battle of the Real World seasons with teams divided by the season they originally appeared (save for the Las Vegas team which mixes the original and the new Vegas cast, which brings Trishelle back before cameras). That also ends up delivering what I'm pretty sure is the gayest Challenge cast we've ever seen with Cancun's Derek Chavez, Brooklyn's JD Ordoñez, New Orleans' Preston Roberson-Charles and San Diego's Frank Sweeney. Yeah, I'm going to be shocked if Frank or JD don't have a breakdown... or if all the glass tables stay in one piece.

Watch What Happens Live (Bravo) 11:00 PM ET
Andy is talking with Cyndi Lauper and Sherri Shepherd tonight. Funny. That's the second time the opening lines from The Facts of Life's theme song started running through my head.
