I devote most of my Star Trek-related internet searches to Patrick Stewart arguments with David Suchet over how to play Shylock, but now I'll have to look up more of Leonard Nimoy's wisdom. Turns out Nimoy penned an amazing response to a fan who wrote him a terse, sad letter about feeling alienated (forgive the pun) in school thanks to classmates' prejudices.
It's specific, empowering, and direct. It is not precious, and it's right in line with the best of the "It Gets Better" videos of recent years. I personally still think about Tim Gunn's video with regularity.
