Stephen Fryhas signed on to the CBS pilotSuper Clyde, opposite Rupert Grint. Grint will be playing an unassuming fast food worker, who decides to become a super hero. Fry will play his sidekick, Randolph, the butler. Unexplained is how a fast food worker has a butler.
The BFI has unearthedSouth, a previously unknown television play that aired in 1959. What makes it so remarkable is that, set against the backdrop of the American Civil War, it involves a dashing Polish lieutenant exiled to the south who isn't sure who he loves, the daughter of a plantation owner, or the newly arrived Eric MacClure. Airing a full two years before Victim, which was previously thought to be the first depiction of gays on television, it stars Peter Wyngarde, who was a gay actor. The play will screen this weekend at the BFI's Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. h/t Allan
The Rhode island Senate is set to consider two marriage bills on Thursday, both with significant religious protections. Another bill would send the issue to the voters in 2014, and carve out exemptions for religious organizations, affiliated organizations (Knights of Columbus), as well as business owners with religious beliefs, like bakers and florists, as well as end nondiscrimination protections. Thanks?
The Lee Boys was one of two musical acts scheduled for the National Organization for Marriage's march in Washington, D.C. this month, but they've dropped out after discovering what NOM advocates, thanks to Jeremy Hooper.

Bryan Singerhas announced the return ofColossus for X-Men Days of Future Past, played by Daniel Cudmore, who makes nice eye candy. Sadly, I doubt we're dealing with Ultimate Colossus.
In the "you can't make this shit up" department, Showtime has castHitler as the Pope. Seriously, Bruno Ganz of Downfall, has been cast as the Pope in The Vatican. Downfall of course, is most famous for being lipdubbed to death with Hitler ranting about any given subject.
Now that Colton Haynes has been made a series regular in Arrow, what can we expect from his character, Roy Harper? Depending on which comic you read, he could become Speedy, beloved sidekick to Oliver, or a heroin addict. And yes, evidently we can have both, too.
In Kickstarter news, Joss Whedonwill not be usingKickstarter to make a new Firefly movie, and he knew he was going to be asked as soon as he saw the Veronica Mars news. On the other hand, Bryan Fulleris seriously considering it forPushing Daisies, and Zachary Levi is mulling it over for Chuck.
I already have serious doubts about Sacha Baron Cohen playing Freddie Mercury, and addingLes Mis'Tom Hooper as director really isn't helping. Plus, there are rumors that rather than use actual Freddie Mercury audio for performances, Cohen might actually try and sing himself (outside of Adam Lambert, most people who attempt Mercury fail miserably), and if Hooper decides to have Cohen sing live, well, we know how that turns out.

We're deep into Britain's annual Comic Relief fundraiser, with famous folks donning red noses, Jessie J shaving her head, and all manner of deeds to raise money for charity. Doctor Who has contributed their regular short to the affair, and it really brings out a horror that eclipses the Daleks.
Just how much money gets raised each year? Well, the fabulous Miss Piggy arrived in a cloud of smoke and attitude fit for the queens on RuPaul's Drag Race to announce an early total, and even she was impressed.
Since we're talking about Doctor Who today, there's a new trailer out for the upcoming half season, and it features enemies new and old, plus The Doctor bewildered by his new companion, and perhaps even a little scared.
This Oscar Meyer ad is just perfect. It's the grandfather you hope you'd had, but also hope you're never out in public with him. But it would be so much fun to sit on a porch swing with him and mock the world go by.
With the news that Senator Portman would be supporting marriage equality in the wake of his son coming out, ABC News asked Speaker Boehner if he could ever see himself coming to such a revelation if someone important to him came out, like a child or a family member. The answer, of course is no. But what if it were the person who does your spray tan, Mr. Speaker?
Aperture R&D was described as Better Off Ted set in the Portal universe, and that's probably the best description anyone could come up with. Having never played Portal, I had a little trouble with the references, but this a pretty endearing look into the world of coporate mad scientists. I'm looking forward to the next episode.
General Mills enlisted YouTube artist Melody Sheep to remix Lucky Charms commercials for St. Patrick's Day, and while it's blatant pandering by a corporation, I do give them points for thinking outside the cereal box.
A while back, we showed you a hardcore video of Modern Family's Ariel Winter as Dora the Explorer because we thought it was cute. We weren't the only ones, because it's now being turned into a web series, which means this is the trailer for a webseries of a trailer.

He's Way More Famous Than You was a SlamDance favorite directed by Michael Urie about a drunken, narcissistic actress and her enabling friend. I'm not entirely sure that I find the movie appealing, but Michael Urie has a few great lines talking about it that I found pretty funny.
