The Texas A&M Student Senate passed a bill that will allow students to opt out of allowing their fees to be used to support the GLBT Resource Center. At the last minute, the bill title was changed from GLBT Funding Opt Out Bill to The Religious Funding Exemption Bill, which seems to be a new naming trend that needs to stop. Nobody is stepping on your religious freedom with marriage, counseling, or a safe place to meet on campus. If you want to be honest, just call it the Freedom To Discriminate Bill and move on.

The ACLU is fighting a Nevada law that makes consensual sex between minors of the same gender under the age of 18 a crime, but not if the minors are male and female. The law makes sex between persons of the same gender "infamous crimes against nature" and has been used to prosecute a same-sex underage couple last year.
Salt Lake City isn't really known for tolerance of GLBT folks (though I've had some wild times there at the gay clubs).
