It's the last Christmas before breaking out the "Baby's First Christmas" ornament on The New Normal.

News

Canadian channel MuchMusic (or is it just Much now?) has decided to pass on a third season of the critically-acclaimed L.A. Complex. Technically, the series isn't dead yet — the CW could keep it alive (which seems unlikely considering the ratings) and the series' production company is looking to see if another Canadian network might pick it up. As much as I'm saddened by this news, at least The L.A. Complex' last episode would make for a solid closing chapter.

Deadline breaks the word on a couple of amazing bits of recurring casting — S. Epatha Merkerson has joined Deception (that's NBC's upcoming soap where rich people suffer for ignoring the help) while Jere Burns will play a mysterious character on Bates Motel.

Howard Stern announced on his radio show that he'll be returning as a judge on America's Got Talent. I have to admit, Stern wasn't quite the refreshing change of pace I hoped he would be, but he was a solid judge. Too bad his debut season was dragged down by a lot of lackluster performances.

VH1 is developing a reality show that sounds like a cross between Joe Schmoe and The Millionaire Matchmaker, based on Deadline's description of Making Mr. Right. The series will follow 14 guys who think they're on a dating show but are being turned into the series' hosts' idea of Mister Right.

Denis O'Hare will appear on an episode of Law & Order: SVUaccording to TV Guide. He'll play Father Shea, the same character he played on Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

The BBC is planning to adaptJ.K. Rowling's novel The Casual Vacancy into a TV series expected to air sometime in 2014.

Piper Perabo is set to appear in a three-episode arc on Go On as a love interest for Matthew Perry, according to Deadline. I never gave Perabo a chance based on her movie career, I'm glad she's getting a better showcase thanks to her Covert Affairs role.

With 30 Rock's final episode coming, NBC is making sure to keep Alec Baldwin around. Deadline reports the network has signed him to a two-year deal that will include trying to find a new show for him.

Portlandiaannounced another guest-appearance for the upcoming season: No Doubt will show up in a so-far undisclosed role.

Newsroom has cast Joel Johnstone to play a Mitt Romney campaign staffer, The Hollywood Reporter reports. We're going to get at least one episode where he smugly insists that the polls point to a Romney landslide, aren't we? Suddenly, I mind Newsroom's 20/20 hindsight a little less.

The midseason finale of The Walking Deaddrew 10.5 million viewers, making it Sunday's top show — and that's before you count people who watched either of the repeats or people who watched on their DVR.

Meanwhile, it looks like Bravo has a definite hit with The Shahs of Sunset. The second season debuted with double the audience that first checked out the series when it made its debut last March.

Listings

Anderson Live (syndicated) Check local listings
Anderson is joined by an uptown girl as Christie Brinkley is his guest host for another True Crime Tuesday. The guest list also includes Switched at Birth star Gilles Marini, which I guess is a nod to the salacious premise that might fit in a True Crime Tuesday?

Live! with Kelly and Michael (syndicated) Check local listings
Jane Fonda is visiting the Live! set this morning for what looks like a segment of jokes about her 80s fitness empire.

The Talk (CBS) Check local listings
Tori Spelling is scheduled to appear today to discuss her new webseries.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated) Check local listings
The incredible Martha Plimpton will be talking with Ellen about why more people should be watching Raising Hope.

Days of Our Lives (NBC) Check local listings
We've got another day of Will and Gabi agonizing over all the lying they'll have to do about the baby.

Raising Hope (Fox) 8:00 PM ET
In a nice reminder that we're past the days when sitcoms about schlubbly men and their beautiful wives ruled the airwaves, Jimmy complains about how Sabrina always leaves the difficult work of caring for Hope to him, disappearing when playtime is over.

Happy Endings (ABC) 9:00 PM ET
Penny starts dating a great new guy played by Nick Zano, an actor who is as funny and charming as he is stunning, which means she must face a hurdle that's equally terrible — trying to stay sexy while wearing a prescription helmet for her concussion. Meanwhile, oh my god is that Brad with a teacup piglet? Squeeing now.

New Girl (Fox) 9:00 PM ET
Nick and Schmidt continue to work through their relationship issues. Schmidt tries to decide between sex with his boss (he hasn't even caught mercury poisoning, yet!) and trying to get back with Cece. Meanwhile, while Nick gets steamy with a woman he meets at the bar (Olivia Munn, who probably doesn't have a stripper boyfriend in this role which is too bad since Schmidt would probably want to hang with him).

Go On (NBC) 9:00) PM ET
It's the end of 2012 and that means it's not just the holiday season, we're also nearing the date predicted for the Mayan apocalypse, so the group decides to make the end of the world the theme of their holiday party.

The New Normal (NBC) 9:30 PM ET
The holidays only make Bryan and David bicker like they were raising goats on a farm in upstate New York, thanks to a consultant (SNL alum Cheri Oteri) they hire to make their home safe for the baby. Maybe attending a Christmas party hosted by a "realtor to the stars" (Marlo Thomas) will mend things. Or just a little more bourbon in the egg nog.

Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 (ABC) 9:30 PM ET
Apparently, James's run on Dancing with the Stars hasn't ended. I can hold back my urge to wonder how long a DWTS season lasts in this world if it means a chance to see the faboo Missi Pyle as James' nightmare of a dance partner.

Watch What Happens Live (Bravo) 11:00 PM ET
Jeff Lewis is showing up tonight to give Andy"the look" whenever Andy asks something Jeff finds to be ridiculous.

Chelsea Lately (E!) 11:00 PM ET
Kristin Chenoweth's guest-hosting tonight's episode with interview guest Dwight Yoakam.

What will you be watching tonight? Please share in the comments!
