Southland, Necessary Roughness, 10PM just got busy with gay characters.

News

TVLine says that former Mindy Project beau, Tommy Dewey has joined the Seth MacFarlane-produced Fox comedy Dads about two guys who suddenly find their fathers moving in. Dewey was great on The Mindy Project, I hope this Dads can capture that equally well.

Yesterday's announcement that G4 is turning into The Esquire Network, inspired Jezebel to snark on the idea of another channel aimed at men. Of course, I'd watch the hell out of "Great, Scott!" and their version of The Millionaire Matchmaker sounds so much better than Bravo's.

NBC's modern-day Hatfields & McCoys pilot just added Virginia Madsen as the matriarch of the McCoy family.

Carla Buono, whose Mad Men character introduced us to the curse, "Go @$% in the ocean!" will appear in an episode of Castle as a woman who has a history with Detective Ryan.

After two seasons, the BBC has cancelled mid-century journalism drama The Hour. I have to admit, I liked The Hour on paper, but it never managed to become a must-see show.

Showtime's Vatican pilot, about a modern-day political intrigue in the Catholic church as added Matthew Goode to its cast. Goode will play a papal secretary who is a confidante of the Pope.

It's been a while since we saw him last, but TV Guide reports that Gary Cole is returning The Good Wife.

What does the AV Club think is "the great HBO show you're not watching?"Enlightened. They're right.

You heard about the school that wanted to ban gay kids from the prom, but did the local TV station revise the story to minimize the homophobia of the school?

GLAAD is meeting with the producers of Mike & Molly over an anti-trans joke that really sounds like it should have come from a hack comedian who hasn't updated their material in a decade.

Peter Sarsgaard is joining the cast of The Killing for its third season. He'll play a death row inmate whose time is running out.

I don't know what to think about Fox's sci-fi pilot Delirium, which is based on a series of young adult novels about a dystopia where the world is peaceful because people have a procedure that erases their ability to feel love. It's a concept that sounds a little strained. However, Billy Campbell has joined the cast which grabs my interest. Until I remember his last starring role was on The Killing.

Here's reason for fans of The Americans to feel a little hopeful. The second episode did really well among DVR viewers adding a 58% to the totals when you count the viewers who watched within three days. (New Girl, which is the TV show that gets the biggest DVR bump, averages 56%) That cuts the drama's big second-episode drop from a forboding 40% to about 32%, which is just worrisome.

Anderson talks with Libby Phelps Alvares who left the Westboro Baptist Church behind. Alvares shares why she considers it to be a cult, and she meets the family of a soldier whose funeral was picketed by the church.

The Wendy Williams Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Wendy's got Joan Collins on today's show to talk about the Happily Divorced finale. Also, Chris Noth will be talking about his charity project.

Days of Our Lives
The rest of Salem may have had a chance to focus on their lives for the last few days but today Lucas and Will get back to trying to figure out who sent that text message amid the blackmail-o-rama that's brewing. We're following the action with a liveblog so be sure to join us starting at 1PM Eastern so no "Where RU?" texts need to be sent out.

Nova (PBS) Check local listings
With "Earth from Space,"Nova takes a look at our planet through the magic of satellite imagery and graphic programs that can take several images and compile them into a single picture. From dust in the Sahara fertilizing the Amazon to a submarine's ripples affecting currents worldwide, this one sound like a jawdropping "Butterfly Effect Illustrated".

Arrow (CW) 8:00 PM ET
Has the Ollie/Slade shipping community gotten going yet? Because I'm cheering for those two crazy kids to work out their differences and realize that they're perfect for each other. This week, Ollie is badly injured which means Arrow is giving us all those shots of Stephen Amell lying shirtless on a hospital bed that Once Upon a Time failed to deliver when Hook was injured — and while he's at death's door Ollie's flashing back to happier times with Slade.

Modern Family (ABC) 9:00 PM ET
It's time to see how the Pritchett clan celebrates Valentine's Day and... why are Mitchell and Cameron hosting a lonely hearts party? Do they spend every Valentine's Day taking care of their nieces and nephews or just anyone that's not each other? At least this Valentine's Day involves the two waking up with no memory and Dylan now living with them. Dylan was overdue to explore the career possibilities of being a houseboy.

Supernatural (CW) 9:00 PM ET
Kevin comes back to announce he's figured out the tablet's instructions to closing the gates of Hell which involves passing a series of tests. Sadly, the first test doesn't involve winning the America's Hunkiest Stripper competition (someday Supernatural writers will figure out how to tell that story and make it seem only somewhat pandering). Instead, the boys must kill a hellhound.

Suburgatory (ABC) 9:30 PM ET
While Sheila has to deal with a visit from her mother (the great Mary Kay Place), George's 18-course dinner Valentine's Day plans fall apart, leaving him to spend the night with Top Chef champion Michael Voltaggio. (Now see Esquire Network, this is a Top Chef winner we want to see on TV again.)

Hot in Cleveland (TV Land) 10:00 PM ET
Dave Foley shows up for the season finale as Joy tries to figure out what secret Elka is keeping. Meanwhile the other ladies try to figure out what's left for their relationships.

Southland (TNT) 10:00 PM ET
Oh, Cooper, we've missed you — and you have another new partner to train. But RookieboyBen has fallen in with a sketchy crowd of cops (including Chad Michael Murray), perhaps its time you got back to whipping your old beat partners into shape before you start training new cops? At least you'll have more of a personal life this season.

The Americans (FX) 10:00 PM ET
After her powerhouse performances on The Riches and Justified, I'd like to think Margo Martindale is on her way to becoming one of FX's MVPs. Tonight, she comes into contact with Philip and Elizabeth's lives.

Necessary Roughness (USA) 10:00 PM ET
I checked out USA's sports drama a couple summers ago when Candis Cayne made an appearance, and it didn't really leave me feeling like I was missing much. Still, Cayne was in a side plot while this week Necessary Roughness has a front and center gay storyline. A member of the team makes plans to come out of the closet.

Workaholics (Comedy Central) 10:00 PM ET
The guys try to find the worst way to spend Valentine's Day while still single.

Happily Divorced (TV Land) 10:30 PM ET
Now that she's kissed another guy, Fran's off to London to re-established the series' status quo with her fiance. However, it looks like it's Peter's turn to throw off the basic premise of the show since Colin Ferguson is back as Peter's boyfriend.

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson  (CBS) 12:35 AM ET
Where's Julie Andrews showing up next? It's the chair next to Craig's desk.

What will you be watching tonight? Please share in the comments!
