"So according to social media, this is the "Worst Season Ever'"
I'm not sure why, but this episode didn't annoy me nearly as much as the rest of this season. Maybe because I can finally see the finale light at the end of the tunnel. But luckily, this is the last week of "teams," and starting next week it's every designer for himself.
This week the designers visit the Guggenheim and have to create a piece of wearable art and a ready-to-wear companion piece.
Here are the 5 most memorable moments.
1. LEATHER & LACE
For the first time, a "Team Dynamic" actually works! Michelle and Stanley proved that pairing up can be a good idea, as both designers worked their strengths individually while managing to present a cohesive look. So why didn't this happen the previous nine episodes?
2. CRY ME A RIVER
" sob ... sniffle ... Why do I have to be paired with (fill in the blank)? I'm so much better than (fill in the blank). This isn't fair to ME!"
Shut up. Please, just shut up, you snotty entitled princess. Even Heidi called her out, saying "Layana thinks she's the cat's meow."3. TIM TELLS IT LIKE IT T-I-IS
Tim had the greatest moment of the night when he accused a zombiefied Richard of gamesmanship. "I'm going to really blunt. I'm worried about the two of you. And I'm struck by how you're being, Richard. I feels as though you have a strategy, that if you're at the bottom, you're going to say it's all on Patricia's head." Ha!
4. LAYANA'S HOMAGE.
She took a little bit from every wrong thing that Helena Bonham Carter has ever worn to create this stunning tribute. But she didn't go home for it.
5. PATRICIA'S HOMAGE
Speaking of tributes, I loved Patricia's avant-garde interpretation of Gloria Swanson's Madame Maria von Bohlen in the classic movie Killer Bees.
As expected, Stanley and Michelle were the top team, for Michelle's Zippy Pinhead-esque spiral design and Stanley was the challenge winner for his flouncy face dress. Patricia and Richard were at the bottom, with Richard being auf'd for his sad, drab, pleated skirt.
