Three years ago television history was made when One Life To Live characters Kyle and Oliver became the first same-sex couple to make love on a daytime drama. It was a long road to that point, with Luke and Noah from As The World Turns helping to pave the way (although they were never allowed to have a love scene), and it's been another long road to the second gay daytime couple hitting the sheets. (RIP Dr. Reid Oliver)
But yesterday, after months of teasing and backsliding, Days Of Our Lives supercouple Will and Sonny lurched daytime another step ahead.
Have things changed in the three years since KISH broke through? Now that the dust has settled ... which couple had the sweeter love scene? Let's take a look at each scene and compare and contrast.

MUSIC - KISH had their own theme song, the haunting "My Confession" by Rie Sinclair. WilSon has their own theme song, as well, a Brokeback-esque guitar instrumental

GIRL IN TROUBLE - WilSon has the bland, whiny Gabi, while KISH had the blond, conniving, classic soap bitch Stacey

BLOCKER - WilSon has Will's suddenly Sonny-phobic dad Lucas, while KISH had Kyle's former flame Nick, who grew increasingly desperate, clingy, and manipulative.
WINNER - KISH
PRELUDE - Both couples take their time sensuously stripping each other's clothes off. It's remarkable how similar the scenes are.
WINNER - TIE
AFTERGLOW - As fireworks go off, Oliver asks Kyle, "Is it always going to be like this?" Kyle responds, "Always," and then they spoon. SQUEE! WilSon's scene is longer and more nude, filled with sweet confessions and tender pillow talk, capped off with body strokes ... and nipple kisses. SQUEEEEE!

So Kish wins 3 out of 5, but you can't forget the intangibles. It's hard to look at the KISH clip and not think about what happened to them just a couple of months later, and it does leave a very bittersweet aftertaste. WilSon, on the other hand, is still ongoing, and putting aside all of the irritation over the pregnancy storyline, WilSon does have the one thing that KISH will never have again ... HOPE
